About Us: Bio for Nancy Forrester

Nancy became a Principal of PolicyOne Research, Inc. after merging her twenty year old business process improvement consulting organization, Biscaye Consultants, LTD, with PolicyOne.   Previously, Biscaye Consultants, LTD, conducted engagements for twenty years focused specifically in areas that would impact an organization’s strategic goals and direction.  Working with almost sixty clients in the US and Canada during that period, the organization implemented the quality improvement philosophy of W. Edwards Deming and integrated organizational development concepts throughout the more than 100 engagements.  Nancy has extensive experience in facilitation in group and individual settings,   business process evaluation and improvement, and organizational design and development.

Nancy mentored with W. Edwards Deming, the primary founder of the field of quality control, over a period of six years, and is trained as a statistician (M.S. degree; Ph.D. requirements fulfilled).  Educated as a statistician, Nancy became, by nature and mentoring, one of those rare combinations of ‘statistician and psychologist’ who is able to integrate statistically-based, measurable approaches to improvement with significant attention to the behavioral aspects of change management in the context of developmental evaluations.  Each project focuses on both the methods of business process improvement and the interdependent issues of conflict and relationship management, communications and leadership development. 

She has actively worked in the field of business process management in projects for thirty years.  Her senior-level expertise includes facilitation; team and individual leadership development; improvement of morale, communications, and relationships; strategic thinking; and mediation and collective bargaining in the labor relations arena.  Nancy has experience, expertise, and comfort with all aspects of process evaluation, particularly facilitation in group and individual settings.

Nancy’s style is oriented toward developing productive, professional, innovative, and caring relationships with people at all staff levels throughout an organization, in a way that creates a positive and supportive working environment.  Nancy is considered down-to-earth, approachable, practical, and enjoyable and interesting to work with.  She has extraordinary insight and creativity, as well as significant organizational and communication skills.  She is a unique combination of intuitive and creative, fluid in thinking, goal-oriented and task-driven.  She has a motivating leadership style that creates a high level of results.  Her private and public sector experience includes municipal, county, and state government; healthcare; the automobile sector; education; manufacturing; non-profit organizations; and telecommunications.
